Amador Lockdown eBook Coral Russell Chryse Wymer

“Amador Lockdown” by Coral Russell is a riveting tale of paranormal excellence. Hector and the Paranormal Posse (that is NOT the name of a rock band) were doing just fine with their public tours of allegedly haunted buildings in old El Paso, Texas. They even did the occasional “ghost hunting” routine to prove or debunk rumored hauntings. When they decided to debunk the notion that Amador Hotel was haunted, they discovered a far darker “other side” than they ever expected to experience.

On top of all the damage precipitated by unhappy spirits, Hector’s son, Darren, whom he had only very recently taken into his home, disappeared. Hector’s ex-wife, his parents, his friends, and even the police, all believed Darren had simply run away from Hector’s home. When the police found and returned Darren to Hector’s house, it seemed as if everybody else was right. But Hector could tell it was not Darren on the inside; another, more evil, spirit had taken control of Darren’s body.

“Amador Lockdown” is a highly enjoyable book. It is also very well written, and comes with a complex but easy-to-follow plot. The characters were very believable in every respect, and their interaction was precisely what you would expect. Darren’s behavioral problems were also exactly what you might expect from a young teenager whose parents had divorced, and whose new Step-father was abusive.

Coral Russell did some serious homework before writing this enticing tale. I fervently recommend “Amador Lockdown” to anybody and everybody who has an interest in haunted buildings, ghosts, or any other aspect of the paranormal. In a word – “Amador Lockdown” is awesome!

Amador Lockdown eBook Coral Russell Chryse Wymer Reviews

This story takes you on a wild unpredictable ride that makes a convincing case for the thin line between life and death. There is enough intriguing research intertwined with the setting and plot to give this ghost story a realistic feel. As a result, I can tell you right now that I'll never agree to a ghost tour that includes a lockdown. If you ever think you know what will happen on the next page, you will be wrong. That's one of the things I love about Indie stories is that they don't stick to a formula. Plus, this author came up with a clever and memorable twist that would make for a great scary movie. I'm a picky reader and I devoured this book in one sitting, so hats off to Coral Russell. I'll be reading lots more of her books.
Have longed enjoyed psychological thrillers and unique characters, all which can be found in this story. Hector supplies the human side of this ghost hunt while the history of the old hotel and it's former occupants give you the paranormal side.

There are several sub-plots, an excellent twist and leaves the reader thinking at the end, trying to put all the pieces together. A short read that leaves you wanting more. Characters are well defined and pull you into the read.

Every writer has their own style and I enjoyed the 'voice' of this writer. If you are looking for a quick, entertaining read, may I suggest this story.
Meet the Paranormal Posse, based in El Paso, Texas. A group of otherwise total opposites come together over their shared fascination with the paranormal. Geeky, yes. Compelling and intricately human, hell yes. Amador Lockdown accomplishes a nice balance of spooky without making one's head spin before vomiting. I'm not a horror movie fan. I don't dig making light of evil stuff. But this novel finds a good human groove early on and sticks with it.

The Amador Hotel in Las Cruces, New Mexico is the focal point. The author, Coral Russell, unfurls the setting via several eye witness accounts before having the main characters actually on location. This is her first well calculated effort at building the suspense in a story that escalates all the way through to the end. Overall, the story mixes a bit of the human, the paranormal and the historical into a enjoyable read. Read it! Review it! Share it!
I was wondering throughout the first half of this story just where it was going. It would seem to get focused on a direction, but then things were dropped and I was left wondering, "Really? What's up with that?" It didn't get interesting for me until the very last part--and then it ended rather abruptly. With a depressing conclusion, I might add.

I never could get into the show 'Ghosthunters', and the main gist of this novel reminded me of that show. Or at least it did until the family aspect came into play, then it sort of brought the movie "The Exorcist" to mind (but don't worry, it was nowhere near as creepy as that).

Basically a quick read, but not an easy read because of the poor formatting and the story teasers that never really went anywhere. Interesting, as far as it went; but I'm sorry to say that it didn't quite satisfy me.
I love ghost hunting so was thrilled to find this book. I thought the paranormal posse were great, a nice mix of characters that were all believable and you were immediately invested in.

The book got nice and spooky as they began their lockdown at the Amador Hotel and I was truly excited and couldn't put it down. Then it seemed it was suddenly over and I didn't have satisfactory answers and was kind of left wondering what had just happened.

The writing style, both descriptive and dialogue, was very good, the book just creepy enough without alienating readers by scaring the pants of them, and it had all the makings of 5 star book. The family aspect and conflicts that came in to play added to the story, but then were left hanging.

I respect the authors' ability, but adding on an extra chapter to finish this off would have gained my respect far more. I don't know if this is a marketing ploy to get you to buy another book, or a tactic to keep you wondering about it days after you have finished it, asking others to read so you can discuss. Either way, it left me a little unsatisfied.
